Social Media Experience

Working as the Assistant Director of Social Media for the University of North Florida helped me develop strong expertise in social media management, along with proficiency in designing promotional and interactive graphics across all platforms. My responsibilities included creating promotional videos, scheduling daily content, managing post requests from university departments, and overseeing social media advertising and boosted posts. Throughout this role, I promoted the University’s brand to ensure a strong and consistent identity while managing the official university social media channels.

Prior to my role as Assistant Director, I managed the social media accounts for the Office of Campus Life, one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I closely tracked follower analytics and was excited to see consistent month-over-month growth. During my time in this position, I increased followers across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and single-handedly launched the Campus Life Snapchat account in February 2015. By the time I left the role in October 2017, the account had grown to nearly 2,000 followers.

Designed Instagram Posts

Below are some of my favorite posts while managing the UNF Campus Life Instagram account. UNF has such a beautiful campus, so it isn't hard to come up with beautiful content!

Branded GIFs

GIFs played a key role in modern social media, and I wanted to ensure the University of North Florida stayed aligned with current trends. I designed a series of UNF-branded GIFs for use as Instagram Story stickers, creating a fun, on-brand way to increase visibility and engagement.

Utilzing Snapchat Filters

Snapchat makes it easy to create custom filters, and I designed one for a contest hosted by UNF Campus Life. The contest encouraged students to showcase their school spirit by wearing UNF attire and using the Blue and Gray Wednesday filter, with the most spirited submission winning a prize. With nearly 30 submissions, the campaign not only boosted followers on the UNF Campus Life Snapchat account but also promoted engagement and school pride.

Snapchat Departmental Promotion

After the UNF Campus Life Snapchat account surpassed 1,000 followers, I wanted to create content that was both informative and engaging for students. That’s how #FeatureFriday was born. Each Friday, the account would spotlight a student group or department, with me filming while they showcased their programs and how they benefit UNF students. After the feature was posted on Snapchat, each snap was downloaded and compiled into a video to share across other platforms, maximizing reach and engagement. The video below highlights the UNF Club Alliance (now known as Osprey Involvement Center), a student-run organization that brings together all student clubs on campus.
